Dale Schmidt, President
Dale is a leading senior executive experienced in business leadership, operations, financial, and creative management with more than 35 years of executive and managerial experience in various industries. Areas of expertise include:
- Presidential and entrepreneurial leadership, executive management, and supervisory responsibility
- Strategic, operational, and financial planning
- Market analysis and product development
Throughout his career, Dale has served as CEO, CFO, COO, and President of several life and health insurance companies. Before this, he spent 10 years as a consultant and CPA employed by KPMG Peat Marwick and Deloitte & Touche, specializing in insurance, auditing, and consulting.
Operations
Christopher Weems, Director of Operations
Christopher has more than 24 years of experience in health insurance operations. He leads all aspects of PAS operations, including claims processing, agent services, customer service, and client support.
In his previous roles in operations management, Christopher oversaw teams handling major medical, group medical, dental, life, Medicare Supplement, Medicaid, limited medical, and disability insurance products. He has held positions in claims, customer service, agent services, new business, and underwriting.
Christopher’s varied experience allows him to remain flexible in his approach and ensure that both state and clients standards and expectations are not only met but also exceeded. His teams pride themselves on meeting those standards with an emphasis on quality and productivity.
Suzanne Toon, Call Center Manager
Suzanne has more than 12 years’ experience providing world-class customer service for TPAs. Her experience includes managing teams supporting case management programs, commercial programs such as limited medical insurance products, Medicaid programs, information technology/help desk departments, as well as administrative teams supporting a health insurance sales agency. She joined PAS in 2010 as a Customer Service Representative and was subsequently promoted to Call Center Supervisor and then to Manager.
Suzanne’s ability to effectively balance customer and company requirements has allowed her to effectively support her team and empower it to consistently provide efficient, high-quality customer service, while meeting or exceeding metrics and service level agreements.
Sales and Marketing
Alan Edgin, Executive Vice President, Sales
Alan has more than 3 decades of experience in the insurance industry with a comprehensive background in product development and sales and marketing. Major areas of responsibility have included:
- Developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies
- Building distribution and managing career field force
- Creating and nurturing strategic alliances
Previously, Alan was the President and co-owner of the Selected Market Insurance Group, and he held senior management positions with several other insurance and financial services companies including MetLife, Coroon & Black (now Willis Inc.), Mutual of Omaha, and United Chambers.
Dan Kuhn, Executive Vice President, Business Development
As the original founder and former CEO of the Selected Market Insurance Group, Dan was responsible for the overall strategic direction of the company as well as its wholly-owned subsidiary, Online Insurance Services. Dan brings more than three decades of insurance industry sales and operational experience to the PAS team. He specializes in product development and the wholesale distribution of health and accident products. Dan’s senior officer positions also included Chief Sales Officer at HPA where he played a vital role in the company’s success in the short-term medical market. Before that, he was the Vice President of Sales at Mutual of Omaha where he was responsible for all health and accident products for the brokerage operation within the company.
